About:
I currently live in Aspen, Colorado, a place that continues to inspire me every day with its mountains, rivers, and endless skies. But I would say the same about the other places I call home too — Arizona holds a special place in my heart, as does my homeland of New Mexico.
Family means everything to me. I’m fortunate to still speak every day with my 97-year-old mother, who somehow remembers my appointments better than I do, tells incredible stories, and remains a fierce card player. I’m also blessed with a beautiful wife, three amazing adult children pursuing meaningful and interesting careers, and Frida, my loyal little hiking sidekick.
Professionally, I’ve been fortunate to spend my career surrounded by talented, generous people. Together, we created award-winning annual reports, effective brands and campaigns, professional sports identities, uniforms, arena graphics, and commercial work that delivered results for our clients while earning recognition in major design annuals.
Highlights along the way include a Gold Medal from the New York Art Directors Club, Emmy Awards, and several pieces added to the Library of Congress — achievements made possible by trusting clients and an extraordinary team.
Another meaningful part of the journey has been seeing designers who passed through our studio go on to open studios of their own. I’m grateful for the mentors and creative environments that shaped me, and I hope I’ve been able to pass some of that encouragement and generosity forward.
Creativity has always been at the center of my life. I’m deeply thankful to the educators, artists, and thinkers who opened new paths for me and encouraged me to trust my own voice. I plan on making art until my last breath. Creativity brings me joy every single day and continues to shape the way I see the world.
I consider myself a lifelong student of the creative process, and I hope my work connects with people in an honest and meaningful way.
As Ringo Starr says so well:
Peace and Love.
